This Week at Nerdist Theater at Meltdown!

Hi all, and I hope your Thanksgivings were merry and fattening! We’re taking a couple of days off for the holiday, but we’re got some amazing shows coming up starting this weekend that’ll knock your socks off.

On Saturday at 8pm, it’s the return of Cosplay Karoke!

We had so much fun before that it’s time to do it again! Just in time to shake off the tryptophan from Thanksgiving, it’s Cosplay Karaoke!!! What would Harley Quinn sing if she had a chance? What would Peter Parker belt out? You have a chance to find out! Scott Lobdell (DC writer extraordinaire) brings you a night of karaoke like you’ve never seen it: in costume! Come and enjoy the fun in your normal everyday clothes, or come and dress up for your chance to sing like a superhero! Hosted by cosplay queen Nicki Hunter!

$5 at the door only

Sunday at 7pm, it’s Matt Mira’s Day Off!

Matt Mira of the Nerdist Podcast needs a Day Off, so we decided to give him Sundays at Nerdist Theater. Come watch Mira and Paul Cibis host this comedy free-for-all. You’ll see brand new comics, comics you know and love trying out new material (Chris Hardwick and Kumail Nanjiani have both dropped in), and the magic that is live comedy.

Monday at 8pm, it’s Star Dreck!

This month we take a look at some of the worst episodes in Trek history. These prove that even the crew of the Federation flagship can have missions that aren’t exactly the best of the best and that Deanna Troi gets her mind violated, a lot.
Joining Matt Mira and Kumail Nanjiani this month to see just how terrible Star Trek can get will be Attack of the Show‘s Kevin Peirera along with film producer and one half of the Smodcast podcast, Scott Mosier.

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Tuesday at 8pm, it’s Jackie Kashian’s Dork Forest!

Margaret Cho is my guest. She LOVES to discuss the “Whole Asian Thing.” Her words. I’m open to it. Why? Safe Space. That’s why. Garfunkel and Oates will close the show with their awesome songs/comedy. Get this… Mike Ruekberg is going to sing the Dork Forest anthem that he wrote. Anthem? is that right? Whatever. It’s gonna be epic. Please come. We’re starting right on time cuz we’re grownups.

Wednesday, it’s The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail!

Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani host this weekly standup show featuring some of the cream of the crop, comedy-wise. This week, they welcome Jackie Kashian, Paul Cibis, Julian McCullough, David Sussman, Dave Anthony, and Neal Brennan!

$8!

Thursday at 8pm is Two Thumbs Way Down!

What’s better than watching a horribly bad movie with your friends? How about watching a horribly bad movie with a bunch of comedians. It’s Two Thumbs Way Down, where LA’s best comics present you with bad movies, you pick the winner, and then they rip it to shreds. Joining host Eli Olsberg this month is Guy Branum, Moshe Kasher, and Lizzy Cooperman.

$8 in advance, $10 at the door!

Stay tuned, because in December we’ll have TMNT art shows, craft fairs for you to buy gifts, music, sex, magic, and more! Check us online at NerdMeltLA.com, and on Twitter at @NerdMelt!
