With both the sixth season of The Walking Dead AND Halloween (or Nerdoween as it’s known around these parts) arriving this month, it’s good to know how to defend yourself from zombies. During the month of October, you just never know when or where an attack may occur.

Thanks to Co.Create, you now have a quick crash course in, while definitely not the most sanitary, the most creative ways to take out any undead creature that crosses your path, courtesy of the cast of The Walking Dead (FYI: NSFW).

The video takes you through the four best ways to kill something that’s already dead. You can smash them. You can slice them. You can tear them apart. Or, like the video says, when all else fails, blow them away. I was taking notes and gathered some other pro-tips that seem to work. You have to make sure it’s as messy as possible. If the kill is clean, it may turn into a SUPER-zombie. Also, do your best to wait until the zombie is 1 or 2 inches from your face before killing it. For those of you that are thinking, “If I take it out before that, I won’t run the risk of getting bitten/eaten.” Watch the video. What works, works.
