This Video Game-Inspired Wood Work Has Us Salivating

With the holidays fast approaching, we’re certain many of you are already planning your gaming schedules in order to get the maximum amount of time available to play during your time off. But of course, as we all know, gaming isn’t merely about the act, but also the culture. Aware of that, what we have for you today is something totally cool that would make for a great addition to anyone’s sanctuary.

Created by wood worker Justin Christensen using art by Charles Holbert, these pieces are some of the coolest video game inspired works we’ve seen in a while. We especially love the Donkey Kong carving that changes the classic character enough to really standout. It never ceases to amaze us what artists can create with the right kind of inspiration, and these are definitely at the top of the “Holy Moly” list.

What we can’t tell you at the moment is when or if the pieces will be made available for purchase. Christensen does have an Etsy store, but it appears to be closed for the holidays due to an influx of orders for the season. However, with any luck, when things open back up post-holidays, we’ll all have a chance to purchase one of these suckers for our wall… or three… or ten…

Which one of the new woodwork pieces is your favorite? What characters would you want to see Christensen and Holbert tackle next? Let us know in the comments below.
