Who needs a good cry today? How about some affirmation that life can be wonderful? How about both? What about all the feelings? Well if you need an emotional release weâve got just the video for you today.
Earlier we brought you an inside look at Pixarâs “SadLab,” where researchers test the best ways to make you cry. In actuality it was really just a very funny interpretation by a comedy group about how Pixar is less a movie company and more a tear factory. The reason it worked so well (and “SadLab” certainly feels like a real thing) is because it rings so true. Pixar has the uncanny ability to make us tear up at something as simple as two robots holding handsâbut it goes beyond just being sad. A Pixar film is more like a cathartic ride through our own gamut of emotions, which is why someone put together a (NSFW if your boss doesnât want you crying at your desk) tribute to the animation company celebrating its uncanny adeptness at making our emotions bubble over.
Scored to Siaâs “Breathe Me” and “You Know We Canât Go Back” by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, the montage of emotion was put together in anticipation of the release of Inside Out, a Pixar movie about literal feelings. Vimeo user Lindsay McCutcheon used many Pixar films from their library, so be prepared to remember (and be affected) some scenes that you may not have thought about in awhile.
Sadness. Guilt. Anger. Fear. Triumph. Hope. Resolve. Love. Family. Friendship. Itâs all here, and it’s all like a giant onion being cut directly into your heart.
You know what? You guys share your favorite Pixar scenes right here in the comments below while we try to gather ourselves together.
