What happened, NBC? Who dropped this mega-ball? After seeing a startling new leak from NBC Universal — and by “leak” we mean Funny or Die parody video — that shows 30 Rock’s Jane Krakowski getting her Pan on in an audition for Peter Pan LIVE!, we have but one thing to say: our girl was ROBBED of that role. R-O-B-B-E-D!

Sure, she’s not Brian Williams’ zippy daughter, Marnie-ing her way through life with the grace and energy of a high school theater kid, nor is she really all that boyish, but MAN! This, this was a mistake. In Krakowski’s Peter we find the antihero we know the mentally regressed teenager who refuses to grow up is, really. Is he a lesbian? Is he straight? Is he addicted to fairy dust, searching far and wide throughout the stars for a quick fix to take the edge off his weary life of perma-childhood? Who’s to say at this point, because it certainly won’t be Jane Krakowski.

Big mistake. Big. HUGE!

We want to live in the world of Jane Krakowski’s Peter. Heck, you’ve already got the perfect Captain Hook for that universe in Christopher Walken. One need only to imagine with their minds’ eye a battle between Krakowski’s Peter and Walken’s Hook to understand the magic the NBC Universal brass squandered. But sometimes life is unfair in that way.

At least we have this.
