This Notorious B.I.G.-STAR WARS Mashup is Stellar

The Force was strong with Notorious B.I.G.

The legendary rapper is still recognized today as one of the pioneers of rap and still considered highly among fans and critics alike. The same can be said about  Star Wars and its impact on pop culture and filmmaking, even outside of the science fiction genre. Like peanut butter and chocolate, both are great on their own, but combining them creates something that will truly blow minds.

Now, rapper Richie Branson and producer Solar Slim have brought Biggie to a galaxy far, far away by mixing tracks from various Biggie albums with the songs of the Star Wars saga. The remix album is Life After Death Star, and not since Dangermouse’s The Grey Album has there been such a brilliant blending of two genres that have no business being this good together.

Under the name Otaku Gang, Branson and Slim meld hard-hitting tracks like “Ten Crack Commandments”, “Dead Wrong”, and “Long Kiss Goodnight” with the universally recognized score composed by John Williams. The remix can be heard in its entirety on SoundCloud, and I personally recommend the remixes of “Big Poppa”, “Party N’ Bull****”, and especially “Dead Wrong”, which features probably the best use of “The Imperial March” since the Star Wars movies themselves.

Give the album a listen below, be sure to let us know what you think, and which track is your favorite. What other John Williams’ scores should be mashed up with legendary rappers? Let us know in the comments below!
