This LEGO Star-Lord Helmet is Brick-Based Brilliance

While Rocket Raccoon and Groot (especially the dancing baby version) are some of the most memorable visuals from this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord’s helmet is equally worthy of acclaim. Granted, it’s covering up Chris Pratt’s adorable face, but its sleek retro-futurist vibe is undeniably awesome. So, how do you take something cool and make it even cooler? Simple — recreate it in LEGO! Well, that’s exactly what artist Orion Pax did.

This isn’t Pax’s first foray into the world of pop culture LEGO tributes. He has also created models of everything from the Batmobile to Todd McFarlane’s Spawn to One Piece’s Thousand Sunny. Star-Lord’s mask is just the latest in a long line of brick-based baubles. On his website, Pax offered a statement about his Star-Lord piece:

“STAR LORD, the main character from Guardians of the Galaxy, like every famous rapper, for sure is wearing a nice looking mask. This is built with the red light brick, so the eyes light up. The printed pattern reflects nice in the dark on any surface. The scale is close to 1:1!”

Now if we could just get Lord and Miller to write this cameo into The LEGO Movie 2, we’d be in business.
