This LEGO Diorama of Mustafar Is Blazing Hot

The Separatists made a lot of questionable decisions in Star Wars, including the one that put their headquarters on Mustafar. The planet is covered in volcanoes and lava rivers, and those elements would have to make it a horrible and dangerous place to live. Those same aspects do make the hot planet appealing to build with LEGO bricks though. Builder MichaÅ‚ Kaźmierczak, a/k/a migalart, decided to make a diorama of the planet where Anakin Skywalker died and Darth Vader was born because he wanted to master making lava with LEGO. He previously depicted the substance in an Inferno set, but this was a real test of his skills because lava is freaking everywhere on Mustafar. It’s worse than sand.

Migalart poured considerable effort into constructing this massive and detailed model. As far as I can tell, the only thing that’s missing is Anakin’s charred remains. The Mustafar diorama is made from 60,000 bricks and took Migalart four months to build. I don’t think I’ve ever worked on a single project for that long. It weighs in at 143 pounds and is almost five feet tall. Excuse me, I’m going to pick my jaw up off the floor now.

Given the size, you’d think the details might not all be there, but I’ve zoomed in to see every LEGO brick and they all appear to be in place. It’s impressive, most impressive. While the whole build is quite the feat, I’m particularly taken with he used just a few colors of bricks to make the lava look so good.
