This LEGO Art is Absolutely Freakin’ Adorable

The above artwork shows the Avengers taking a lunch break on the “Top of the Rock” building; a tribute to the final scene of the The Avengers movie, and to the famous photo of construction workers taking a break atop the Rockefeller Center in 1932.

It’s one of many awesome pieces of pop culture LEGO art by French toy designer and LEGO enthusiast, Julien David, a.k.a. Little Ju. He’s recently taken Flickr by storm, and you can see why. In my personal favorite one below, the Stormtroopers look so cute in the Autumn Rain.

LEGO is not just a building toy anymore, as people are doing all sorts of crazy stuff with the medium. Nathan Sawaya’s LEGO sculptures and Bruce Lowell’s LEGO art might be leading the trend, but have you heard of custom LEGO mosaics? Or LEGO painting? LEGO furniture, perhaps? All I know is, Little Ju, you’re in good company. LEGO art is becoming a legit empire–I can’t wait to see what’s next.

For more images of Little Ju’s art, check out the Gallery below. Wolverine and Batman make special appearances, as well as a direwolf and more. If you like what you see, go ahead and give Little Ju your stamp of approval on Facebook.

Now, excuse me while I go and play with my LEGO’s.

What do you think of Little Ju’s LEGO art? Is it up your alley? Do you make LEGO art, too?Reach out to me on Twitter, or make a comment below!
