This Incredible GAME OF THRONES Infographic Will Help You Keep Every Character Straight

There’s one thing that Game of Thrones fans cannot deny: it is hard as seven hells to keep all those familial machinations and allegiances together. Because, hoo boy, is there a lot of them. With the Starks, the Greyjoys, the Umbers, the Boltons, the Lannisters, the Arryns, the Tullys, the Targaryens, the Martells, and the Tyrells just some of the myriad Houses making up the fantasy-medieval political and social hierarchy of Westeros, it’s easy to get a few confused. Particularly as those allies jump ship, double-cross, and falter with each passing page of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series (on which the HBO show is based). Luckily this kickass infographic will help you keep it all in check. (And yes/duh, there are season four spoilers in this. You’ve been warned!)

Sure, it’s safe to assume that even between last week’s episode and tonight’s, major things will change here. I mean, jeez, these folks are fickle. But still! It’s very handy — and very cute — thanks to those cute and cuddly creatives over at the delightfully named Fishfinger Creative Agency (no relation to that Finger which is Little). Clearly fans of clean lines, minimalist design, and the neverending dance of the Iron Throne, the infographic is incredibly detailed without becoming a big ole cluttered mess. Man, good design is really the best. Spelling error aside (it’s “separate” not “seperate”, just FYI because we’re grammar nerds, too), it’s a near-perfect little work of Westerosi wonder. Our favorite aspect is the use of little blood droplets to denote a death — perfect for all of you fantasy fantasy leaguers keeping track at home.

And yes: we know the images look very small here, but if you’ve got your clicky game on lock, the photo will magically open in a new window and you can make it all big and readable. We figured you’d prefer being able to see it in full detail rather than miss all that in order to keep it on one page. Fun, innit?!

House Whiskers! Ser Pounce deserves the throne!

  2. House Martell for the win! Mega keen to some Dorne and check out these infamous Sand Snakes!

  3. Will says:

Click the image, or open new tab, then, point your cursor in front of the long image, it will eventually show a magnification cursor (+) . Click it and problem solve, All images and texts are completely readable.

  4. Nice one, now do the one in the books as a continuation XD

  5. A Pedantic Person says:

It’s, “King in the North,” not, “King of the North.”

    • A Pedantic Person says:

Also “Black Walder” is a different person from that particular Walder Frey, although that is very unclear in the show. I recall Black Walder is one of the patriarch’s sons or grandsons (the one that cuts Catelyn’s throat).

  6. Sad Face says:

Am I the only one who can’t read the names because the resolution is too blurry?

  7. Elisa Kraus says:

Your “grammar nerd” proclamation is immediately followed by a grammatical error—oh sweet irony! 🙂

Pick one: “Our favorite parts are” OR “Our favorite part is.”  Subject/verb agreement is a good thing.

  8. Drunken Adama says:

Obligatory obligatory comment pertaining to the book and how much better it is. (It really is, but the show is great too)

  9. Lizander says:

Team Dragonstone all the way.  Stannis the Mannis is the TRUE king of the Seven Kingdoms.
