Halloween is a time for saving people from demons, unlocking the secrets of the underworld, and hunting things like candyây’know, the family business. We love seeing inventive kid cosplay, especially when it involves the Winchester brothers of Supernatural, and this latest work is a real treat.
Ris Stewart tweeted photos of her kids dressed up in their Supernatural best for this spooky holiday and the adorableness was killer. Stewart who told us that her entire family are huge Supernatural fansâto the point where they even named their son Dean Samuel. (Now thatâs fan commitment!) While the kids are a little young for demon watching, they are allowed to watch hand-picked episodes that their parents approve.
And these costumes are all about the details. Stewart’s son wanted to be Castiel, but insisted that he have scruff and a bottle of the Angel’s essence. (The kid knows: good props will give you edge in cosplay.) Her 10-month old daughter, however, wasn’t fond of too many accessories; much like the real Dean she was portraying, she tried eating everything in sight including the steering wheel of the car.

Speaking of the car, Stewart used cardboard, tin foil, and reflective coil to trick out the baby stroller into a homemade Impala, complete with the iconic Winchester license plate.
Thereâs just one thing missing in this fantastic ode to the wayward sons: whereâs Sam? Unfortunately, Stewart said she ran out of children, and her husband refused to sit in the stroller. Good excuse, plus one of the boys always seemed to find himself in a mess of trouble at one time or another, so I’m sure cosplaying baby Dean and mini Castiel will be on the lookout for good ol’ Sammy.
Stewart entered her kids in a town Halloween costume contest and only came in third place, however she did mention a strange Supernatural-esque moment that occured: At the end of the contest, two guys came up to her and said they liked the kids’ costumes…before driving away in a Chevy Impala. Could it be? Nah…or could it?
