We’ve all seen some truly awful and tacky engagement photos, and then lied through our teeth politely told our friends who showed them to us how classy and romantic they were. On the other hand, we’ve also seen the occasional brilliant and creative ones too, rare though they may be. And I would certainly put this latest engagement photo that’s been making the rounds on the internet in the “brilliant” category.
Kat Canipe‘s fiancee Alec Wells was already cool enough to propose to her on Halloween, dressed up as Michael Myers while jumping out at her with an engagement ring (just hearing that makes me want to marry him), just revealed the engagement photo for herself and her intended, and it’s straight out of Hill Valley, circa 1985. Or 1955 for that matter, as the couple recreated the poster from Back to the Future II, Delorean and all.
The couple’s engagement photo totally evokes the original Back to the Future poster art from legendary movie poster artist Drew Struzan from back in the eighties. With Back to the Future celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year, it’s definitely the perfect time to do something like this. And so far, I must say that this couple has all the details right, from Marty McFly’s orange vest and shirt, to the bride-to-be’s take on Doc Brown’s signature yellow trenchcoat from the Back to the Future II. Of course, a little glint was added to draw attention to her engagement ring, but hey, it’s an engagement photo. You gotta draw some attention to the rock, right?
