MORTAL KOMBAT! The brutal fighter has provided us with so many fond memories of dimensional stories, soul crushing combos, and of course, epic fatalities. You’ve seen it all and even know the theme song by heart. But wait, have you heard an a cappella version of the theme song? No? We figured you hadn’t. Luckily for you, the cast of the YouTube channel The Warp Zone, which is known for their geeky song covers, has outdone themselves with their newest video featuring the Kombat jingle done without any instruments. It is equal parts amusing, impressive, and catchy.

The video features six panels, each with one band member, except for the top center, which has some rad gameplay footage playing. As impressive as it would be for them to just be able to recreate the classic theme song, they go the extra mile and dress head to toe in ninja gear. Each one is modeling a different color, while they’re jamming along to the kicking beat. In true a cappella fashion, each member plays a part, harmonizing to create one incredible rendition that’ll have you gearing up for battle in no time.

If you like what you see, you’ll be happy to know that these YouTubers have a large catalog of nerdy a capella covers. They have done renditions of the themes from Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Powerpuff Girls, and the X-Men cartoon. Their resume is quite splendid.
