During last night’s epic Fear the Walking Dead finale, a brand new Halo 5: Guardians television spot was aired. Titled, Halo 5: Launch TV Commercial, the 2 minute clip gives us a glimpse into the madness to be expected in the game’s campaign. The action picks up with Master Chief running through a town that has seen its better days and a deep voice-over begins to give Spartan Locke his mission briefing. If you missed the premier, I highly recommend watching the trailer above.
We already know that Master Chief is believed to be dead by the masses, as reveled on the recent live-action trailer. This advert once again references the “official” death of the hero. What’s so rad about this is that Locke is referred to as the “unofficial story”, since he must hunt down the hero who is now considered dead. Oh, how the plot thickens. I recently had the pleasure of playing through a couple of missions from the campaign–my impressions of which you can check out here— but know that Halo 5 could potentially be the best Master Chief story yet.
How John-117 and Locke’s stories intertwine with each other will most likely shape the future of the franchise. Lucky for us, the wait for this Xbox One exclusive is almost coming to an end, as the game is slated for stores on October 27.
What did you think about the television spot? Does this make the wait for the game even more unbearable? Let us know in the comments below.
