If you need the services of a sniper, it’s probably not in your best interest to hire a stormtrooper. Tell you what, though: if you get a bunch of them together, they sure can assemble your artificial Christmas tree for you.
At least that’s the narrative that Kyle Shearrer and his father have created with their series of photos depicting toy stormtroopers putting together a tree. They go through the process of laying down a mat, setting up the base, and working from the bottom-up to complete their task and get a nod of approval from Darth Vader.
But the 27 pictures get a bit more complex than that. Like the Star Wars movies themselves, this photo gallery is packed with subplots and hidden meaning that aren’t immediately obvious. For instance, one background stormtrooper decides to test the effects of sticking a fork into an electrical socket, and another gets reprimanded for sleeping on the job. Shearrer said he and his dad tried to put a low-key joke into every image, so we expect a report on the 27 or more easter eggs from you, our good readers.
Here is the exploratory crew determining that the location is ready for construction:
Here is the setting up of the tree’s trunk (and the introduction of our dim-witted, fork-wielding hero):
And here is #ForkStormtrooper (let’s get that trending, please and thanks) explaining the rationale behind his actions (we can’t read the text, unfortunately):
There’s more fun to be had in the full gallery, so check it out here.
