These Square Enix Statues Turn Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman Into Kawaii Crimefighters

The collectible miniature statuette business has been a godsend for nerds like me who have limited space but unlimited love for beloved genre heroes. While action figures and designer toy labels like Mighty Muggs and Pop! Vinyl have all been well and good, it’s nice to get something that has a little weight to it, especially here in Southern California — where you never know when an earthquake might send your favorite figures flying off your desk. Joining the ranks of folks like Gentle Giant and Dark Horse, Japanese game developer and purveyor of fine collectible goods Square Enix has just introduced statuettes of three of the most iconic superheroes ever — Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman — in their new Static Arts mini statuette series. You can see what they’ve done with the Big Three below.

Superman

Batman

Wonder Woman

Yeah, they’re pretty damn adorable, but the cool thing is they’re not too adorable, possessing just the right amount of attitude to make them suitable for display alongside my other statuettes. I’m digging the anime-style, tech-inspired look of these Justice Leaguers too. Each of these six-inch statuettes will be released on November 30th of this year (just in time for holiday gift-giving) and retail for $49.99, but you can pre-order them now on the Square Enix website.
