These GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Poster Designs Are Awesomely ’80s

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hitting theaters this week, the world is pretty much reached maximum excitement levels for the latest adventure inside the MCU. And now that we’ve got our tickets at the ready, watched every bit of press, and are ready to spot any and all Easter eggs in the film, we’ve only got one more tough task ahead of us: choosing which pieces of Guardians of the Galaxy swag will take over our homes. Fingers crossed that these Guardians poster designs by PosterPosse go into print really soon!

Poster Posse’s roster of amazing artists devoted their time and talents to designing some pretty rad posters in honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, including this homage to the art of movie poster king, Drew Struzan. It’s also fitting that the artist chose Struzan’s poster for The Goonies as a reference, since there’s probably no ’80s film that better encapsulates the spirit of the Guardians.

Additionally, this Yondu-inspired design feels like it should be an official piece of art for the film. And while Michael Rooker’s whistling techno-arrow version gives us a different Yondu than the comics’ more traditional archer, the above constellation (of sorts) may make us think of another well-known space archer: Orion.

As of now, these posters are still just designs up on the Poster Posse site and don’t seem to be available to purchase just yet. However, the site does offer prints of their artists work and, fingers crossed, we’ll get to see (and order) more Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 tributes in the coming weeks. Our guess is they’re hard at work with more since they just got a pretty awesome vote of confidence on Twitter.

Take a look at the gallery below for some more from this series and let’s discuss which one is your favorite in the comments section!
