When it comes to Game of Thrones, we can honestly never get enough of the tinfoil hat theories, rampant speculation, and fan-created homages to the characters and moments if the Realm we’ve come to love and relish. This goes doubly for artist Fernando Reza‘s episodic posters for this season. So much so we’ve managed to get him to exclusively premiere his newest — for Sunday night’s “Blood of My Blood” — right here on the site.
Keeping the colors streamlined but choosing moments highly emotionally effective, Reza’s take on Thrones’ world reframes the moments with a hint of Tarantino in his old west phase. And while we’ve included the rest of his episodic images in the gallery below, we’re positively enamored with this image of Arya (OK, Mercy — for now) and her retrieval of the most precious of mementos, her sword Needle. As Arya lies in wait, expecting The Waif and her impending attack, we have very little worry for what’s ahead for her.
I mean, didn’t we all squeal with a bit of delight at the sight of Arya and her wee pointy ended nightmare stick? Here’s hoping she doesn’t have to use it on a family member when she (we hope) returns to Westeros.
But what do you think of Reza’s artwork? And did you know you can purchase this poster from the man himself by clicking here? It’s true! Don’t say we never did anything nice for you, Thrones fans.
