A South Korean company is selling an iPhone app that pretends to be the user’s girlfriend. For the equivalent of $1.99 US, it sends four video calls a day to say girlfriendy things to lonely guys without time to date (or success in dating). It doesn’t say if it includes things like “are you going to spend all day Sunday watching football with the guys again?”
The company claims it sold 80,000 in a single day. I would prefer, for the sake of South Korean men, not to believe that.
And yes, an English-language version is in the works.
Howdy, i read your blog occasionally and i
own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam feedback?
If so how do you protect against it, any plugin or anything you can suggest?
I get so much lately it’s driving me mad so any support is very much appreciated.
Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the pictures on this blog
loading? I’m trying to find out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
For an extra 4.99 a month the app spends your money and tells you to take the trash out. 🙂
Hey yeah that was my girlfriend on my phone. YES my REAL girlfriend. She calls me, like, four times a day. All the time! We’re really close, honestly. Not like you and YOUR girlfriend: I heard that fight you had on the phone the other day while we were out at the bar; everybody heard it. You really have to envy me and my totally real girlfriend who calls me on my phone four times a day and who is completely real as I’ve previously mentioned an inappropriate number of times.
I would install this app to try to convince my parents that I’m straight. South Korea=many closet cases?
Isn’t one of the nice things about not having a girlfriend is that you don’t have someone calling you four times a day?
Um….yeah. No words.
This app will just make it harder for me to convince my wife I don’t have a Korean girl on the side! Jerks!
-_- wow that’s sad.
