There’s a 30 ROCK Reunion of Sorts as Jane Krakowski Joins Tina Fey’s NBC Series

Jane Krakowski and Tina Fey spent 7 fun, brilliant seasons together at NBC’s 30 Rock, and their infectious dynamic is deeply missed. After the show’s series finale, Fey got to work on developing new projects through her overall deal at Universal. More recently, Krakowski starred in a pilot Dead Boss at Fox, which was unfortunately not picked up. Luckily, after all of those solo efforts, the two are finally coming together again for Tina Fey’s new series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at NBC.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is one of NBC’s many new comedy series that will be heading to the network, premiere date TBA. From the minds of writing duo Fey and Robert Carlock, the show stars The Office‘s Ellie Kemper as a woman who has spent the last 15 years in a cult, and is now determined to live a full, rich life in New York City. Krakowski is set to costar as a rich, privileged mother who hires Kemper to nanny. Undoubtedly there will be echoes of Jenna Maroney in her character, much to all of our delight.

Since Fey and Carlock are executive producing the series and Krakowski is in a supporting role, this is more than just a 30 Rock reunion. Fey and Krakowski could have potentially just created their own real-life version of Jenna Maroney’s many shenanigans on 30 Rock. We can only cross our fingers and hope that there will be ample behind-the-scenes footage that explores this possibility.

Perhaps, if this connection goes far enough, TGS and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt could start a whole new multi-network sitcom universe.
