There is a Sequel to THE LAST OF US in Development According to Nolan North

Yesterday, Nolan North (voice of Nathan Drake) spilled the beans on EA and Visceral’s upcoming Star Wars title and how it was inspired by the Uncharted series. Now, he’s revealed that The Last of Us 2 is in development. Check it out in the video below:

When asked whether he was doing anymore projects with The Last of Us and Uncharted developer Naughty Dog during a panel at Metrocon earlier this month, he responded, “For now I know they’re doing Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us kind of met an untimely demise, ” only to then be interrupted by an audience member complaining about spoilers.

For those unaware, North lent his voice to the character David in the first game. Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson played the main roles of Joel and Ellie respectively. The interesting thing is that Baker was asked a similar question at Indy PopCon and appears to know nothing about a sequel. Listen to what he has to say in the following video.

“Okay, so I’m… And by the way I know nothing,” he replied. “I don’t know if we’re gonna do another one or not. If we do, then I trust Neil [Druckmann, creative director] and Bruce [Straley, game director] and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told.”

So, either North knows something his fellow The Last of Us costar doesn’t, or Baker is just better at staying quiet. Whatever the case, it’s certainly interesting to hear. We should, of course, take what he said with a grain of salt, because it could mean anything. But, with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End–the end of Nathan Drake’s journey–it would make sense for the developer to continue with The Last of Us. I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out.

What do you think of Nolan North and Troy Bakers’ remarks? Are you pumped for a Last of Us sequel? Let us know in the comments below.
