The X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Cast on Deleted Scenes, the 1980s, and More

The Days of Future Past may have come and gone, but on Friday we’re taking a trip back to the 1980s with Professor Charles Xavier and his gifted students in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: Apocalypse. The film doesn’t just give us a whole new era of mutant mayhem to explore, but it introduces an expansive new cast of characters. In addition to Oscar Isaac as the titular villain Apocalypse—whose backstory is as insane as his skin is purplish-blue—the film features the likes of Tye Sheridan as Cyclops, Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Olivia Munn as Psylocke, Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler, and many more. We got a snikt preview of X-Men: Apocalypse and caught up with the cast at a press day in London to pick their brains about the upcoming superhero flick. Director Bryan Singer and writer/producer Simon Kinberg told us about a John Hughes-inspired deleted scene, and stars Jennifer Lawrence and James McAvoy shared tales about jumping their new cast members into their gang of mutant marauders; finally, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, and Sophie Turner told us what it was like to step into this sweeping superhero saga.

Oh, and they finally answer the question of whether there was a version of the script that was too 1980s.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens on May 27, 2016.

Will you be seeing X-Men: Apocalypse? What ’80s-tacular moment or thing would you like to see in the movie? Let us know in the comments below.
