In New X-FILES Clip, Mulder Struggles with Technology and Monsters

For fans of The X-Files, episode three is—reportedly—one to get excited about. Not only does it feature The Indoor Kids host Kumail Nanjiani, but it also looks like it’s going to be really, really funny. Especially if the very silly, very goofy, very fun clip above of Mulder bugging the ever-loving crap out of Scully with his terrible cameraphone operating skills is to be believed.

Based on the clip, it looks as though Mulder has come in contact with some sort of monster (something someone is likely to be calling a were-monster, given the episode title “Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster”—so take that as you will) that squirts blood out of its eyes, sort of like a horned lizard. (Take THAT, Scully, you skeptical scallywag, you! Sometimes even you can be wrong.)

For those that are curious, here’s the official synopsis for the episode, “when a dead body is found in the woods, Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate whether it was an animal attack, a serial killer, or just maybe a strange creature as described by eyewitnesses.” So wait…could Mulder actually be right? But I thought last week—spoiler alert—we uncovered that none of it was aliens, and that the government is leading the charge with alien tech?! Surely, this must be wrapped up into that somehow, right? Unless…monsters are real and Mulder’s on the verge of spiraling into a well of self-doubt.

The synopsis did go on to add that he “is able to confront some of his own demons about feeling disillusioned with his life’s work.” So who knows!

What do you think of the clip? Excited for the next episode? We want to believe you, but we’ll need to see it in the comments below.
