The World’s First Full SUPER MARIO Action Figure Coming This May

He’s had his own cartoon show, starred in a live-action movie, and been in countless games spanning across different genres, but would you believe that in his 28 years as the face of Nintendo, Super Mario has never had a full-fledged action figure?

Well, it looks like that’s about to change, because after receiving a strong amount of feedback from a survey conducted by Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA, S.H. Figuarts has decided to release Super Mario’s first full action figure this May. Sure, there have been Mario toys before, but they more or less have been miniature statues or small collectibles included in fast food happy meals, whereas S.H. Figuarts’ action figure is larger, comes with optional diorama sets, and has fully shiftable limbs thanks to its advanced articulation system. Take a look at the images Bluefin Tamashii Nations USA grabbed at the Nuremburg Toy Fair yesterday:

The Super Mario figures will release at $25.99, with the diorama playsets coming in at $19.99. At that price, the sentiment on buying these is pretty conclusive: Shut up and take my coins. Look like something you could add to your collection? Let us know what you think in the comments.

  1. He can play with my Bob Hoskins Mario action figure!

  2. DJ Kento says:

I have quite a few SH Figuarts pieces and I really love them. I recently got the Daft Punk series of figures which have the most amazing packaging. Just don’t expect this thing to be much taller than 3 or 4 inches and at a price of 20 bucks, that’s quite a bit.

I’ll definitely be getting it to put in my Nintendo collectibles section of my house but it is a lot for a small figure.
