THE WITCHER 3’s Launch Cinematic is Here and It’s Certainly a Night to Remember

We’ve no doubt seen our fair share of trailers for  The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but it’s the most recent CGI trailer, titled “A Night to Remember“, that’s got me wondering why the series doesn’t have a show on HBO yet. Seriously, Geralt of Rivia’s fantasy world brimming with violence, sex, and drama seems tailor-made for the small screen, but, I digress.

The stunning opening cinematic, which you can view at the top of the page, shows Geralt hunting down a mysterious woman who is definitely a lot more than she seems. But, considering the fact that he was paid to find the creepy songstress, Geralt comes prepared and downs a potion before battling his invisible foe. With his sword up and at the ready, Geralt duels with the beast, slashing and parrying her every move. Just when you think he’s a goner, the Witcher outsmarts the demon and she falls prey to his crossbow, and transforms back into her human form lying dead on the cold, hard ground.

The trailer is equal parts gorgeous, eerie, and action-packed. As a newcomer to the series, I’m more interested than ever to check out The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt once it hits shelves next Tuesday, May 19th. In case you missed it, don’t forget to check out our full preview/impressions piece as well as the latest episode of our What You Missed By Not Playing series in which we spoil the plot of The Witcher 2.

Are you anxiously awaiting the game’s release next week? What are you most looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below.
