We’ve been treated to some sweet stills of Duncan Jones’ upcoming Warcraft film over the last couple of days, giving us a sneak peek at what we can expect of the film, stylistically speaking. Universal and Legendary have taken it to the next level by releasing a clip, albeit short one, giving us a good look at everything in action. You can expect a better look this weekend, as we get the full debut trailer on Friday, November 6, just in time for the BlizzCon festivities. Watch the madness unfold above.
People have been skeptical of the film thus far, and rightly so given the track record of most video game-inspired film adaptations. Many did not believe that a full-fledged Warcraft film could be done without looking silly, but this teaser should dispel a lot those concerns. Alright, this trailer is only 15 seconds long, but damn if it isn’t filled to the brim with plenty of action. I’m incredibly impressed by the way these characters are brought to life. For those not in-tune with the film’s story-arc: the peaceful realm of Azeroth is on the brink of war, thanks to the invading Orcs who have left their dying homeworld in an attempt to colonize a new land. The short teaser features plenty of battle scenes, so it seems like the filmmakers aren’t going to shy away from bringing the massive scale of this war to life on the big screen.
Expect a much better look at all of our favorite characters in the debut trailer this Friday, and more info on the film this weekend. We’ll have a full breakdown of the trailer as well as all the latest and greatest news coming out of BlizzCon this weekend, so keep your eyes right here on Nerdist.
