THE WALKING DEAD Midseason Premiere’s First 4 Minutes are Explosively Insane

With The Walking Dead making its triumphant and terrifying return on Sunday, February 14, AMC is giving us an apocalyptic amuse-bouche in the form of the first four minutes of the midseason premiere.

If you’ve been keeping up with The Walking Dead, you know that our heroes are between a rock and a hard place. And in between said rock and hard place are throngs of murderous zombies and some even scarier-looking newcomers on motorcycles. Even though we’ve been tantalized by billboards teasing “A Larger World” — which is a reference to the comic book storyline of the same name — and the casting of eagerly anticipated characters like Gregory and Negan, we still have no idea who will make it out of the midseason premiere in one piece. Judging by this new video, we can surmise who won’t be making it out of the cold open in one piece, and who will be making it out in many, many disparate pieces.

Having seen the episode already, all I can tell you is buckle up because the “holy shit” moments keep coming one after another, especially if you’re a comic book reader. Judging by reports that the season finale script made some cast members physically ill and kept them up at night, it’s only going to get increasingly bonkers from here on out. And that’s saying something considering what goes down in this clip and the episode itself.

In the meantime, why not prepare yourself for the road ahead by learning about the comic book origins of Negan, who will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan later this season. Warning: it contains some comic book spoilers, so consider yourself forewarned.

What do you think of the midseason premiere preview? Who do you think will bite the bullet this season? Let us know in the comments below.
