ICYMI: THE WALKING DEAD Cast Invades Comic-Con 2015

Yesterday, the stars of what is arguably the world’s most widely watched ongoing TV show hit Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con, as the cast of The Walking Dead returned to the place where its legacy first began. Our own Kyle Anderson wrote a detailed live blog of The Walking Dead‘s Hall H panel. While I joined a group of other reporters and sat down to chat with (deep breath) Andrew Lincoln (pictured above), Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride (also pictured above), Steven Yeun, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, and Chandler Riggs — as well as executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert, Scott Gimple, and Greg Nicotero — to see what they could tell us about where are favorite apocalypse survivors are headed as they enter their sixth season. One of the most exciting things we learned was that the scale of what we’ll see is going to be bigger than ever.

The season premiere in particular is going to be loaded with more zombies that we’ve ever seen in a single episode. Nicotero told me that while the show’s pilot required him to make up about one hundred and fifty zombies for the scene in which Rick enters downtown Atlanta, the season 6 premiere required him to prepare approximately three hundred walkers. And since time has passed, these walkers are going to look more decayed and grotesque than ever before.

I’ll have my full interviews with The Walking Dead cast right here on Nerdist soon. In the meantime, however, you can find out more of what I learned from the creators and stars in the accompanying video log.

Are you a Walking Dead fan? What do you hope to see in the show’s sixth season? Let us know below!
