You’re done with Thanksgiving and you’ll be returning home this weekend, huh? Here’s a video of a trip home that’ll put your planes, trains, and automobiles jaunt to shame. Ron Garan, astronaut on International Space Station expedition 27 and 28, put together this video of his own return home from space, with video shot by himself and fellow astronaut Mike Fossum, and, like that time lapse video we saw the other day, it’s a view of the planet you don’t get from the window of a Southwest flight. It even has a view of Hurricane Irene from way, way above. (Some of the shots are the same as those in the previous video, but they’re still great)

If you’re indeed done with the trip to see the family and you’re traveling this weekend, have a safe and easy trip. And may no parachutes be necessary.
