Thrilling Adventure Hour

Meet Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars

Way back before The Thrilling Adventure Hour was ever a podcast on the Nerdist Network or an Eisner-nominated graphic novel or a totally awesome web series, it began as a staged reading of a screenplay in Ben Blacker’s living room for a space western called Sparks Nevada, Marshal on Mars. In 2005, the Bens Acker and Blacker transformed their little live read into a stage show at Hollywood’s M Bar and nearly a decade later, they’ve racked up hundreds of hours of top notch entertainment. But it all started with Sparks Nevada and in today’s episode of The Thrilling Adventure Hour, we take a look at Mars’ finest marshal and the man who brings him to life, Marc Evan Jackson.

I don’t like seeing Mark Evan Jackson without a bowtie on. It’s like seeing Jim Henson’s arm in places one doesn’t want to see in a muppet.

So happy to see that there’s footage of episode #131 “into Darkness”. That’s one of my absolute favorites and I hope video of the whole episode gets released someday.

I love this behind the scenes series so hard. It is so awesome to see the people behind the voices of the podcast. Can’t wait to see the next episode. Marc Evan Jackson is sooooo good.

My favorites are any of the “I’m from Earth Day” episodes and the whole run when Croach was pregnant.

I got to see Sara & Sean Watkins perform at the L.A. Podcast Festival as part of “Welcome to NightVale”.

Nevadans are more than a little weird about the pronunciation of “Nevada”.

I’ve noticed that East coasters say Ne-vah-da and West coasters say Ne-vad-uh. I think it’s what they are taught in school. As for.Sparks? I love ’em all!!
