Though much of the pop culture world has their attentions focused on the upcoming Emmy Awards, let’s not forget that the Emmys are also the kickoff to a non-stop slew of award ceremonies. The award show that looks at the digital side of things just announced its nomination list. The 4^th annual Streamy Award nominations are here and it looks like we have cause to celebrate!

Right out of the gate, we’re going to call out a nomination for an event we were very proud to contribute to. The Nerdist-produced Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Live landed itself a nomination in the Live Event category. Congratulations to the team at BBCA and our co-workers at Nerdist that worked so hard to pull off an amazing show before we all cried buckets at the return of David Tennant as the Doctor.

Our buddies over at RocketJump were nominated for Best Channel, Show, or Series – Action and Sci-Fi for their amazing web series Video Game High School, as was Freddie Wong for his direction on VGHS . The series was also nominated for special effects, costume design and best actor in a comedy. That Jimmy Wong, such a sweet guy and a good actor. More of him please! Other nominees in the category include Rooster Teeth’s Red vs. Blue, Machinima’s Mortal Kombat: Legacy II, and Action Movie Kid. It’s also worth noting that Epic Meal Time – which is now a series on FYI – landed a nomination for Best Channel, Show, or Series – Food. (Bacon strips and bacon strips and bacon strips.) Unsurprisingly, our new Legendary partners in crime, Geek & Sundry, also landed a nomination for their series TableTop in the Best Channel, Show, or Series – Gaming category.

But of course, we could never forget the continued nomination domination of our boss’s show @midnight in the Best Television Series category. Fresh off its recent Emmy nomination, @midnight continues to kill it. We issue another major congratulations to Chris and company for more well earned acknowledgment.

Looks like the Streamys really got the nominations right this year, so be sure not to miss any of the action when the winners are announced on September 4^th and recognized at the ceremony on September 7^th.
