The STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS Trailer Reimagined in DESTINY is Everything

With the highly anticipated release of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens less than two months away, it’s been a hot topic of conversation. Actually, it’s been on our minds since it was first announced—because Star Wars—but with the latest trailer being released last week, we figured it wouldn’t be long before mash-ups or spoofs started popping up. Though creating fan-made trailers for popular films using video games is nothing new, the Force Awakens trailer—which you can check out above—that YouTube user Sam Goodey created using footage from Destiny:The Taken King, is absolutely perfect.

As you can see in the clip above, the video editor took the audio straight out of the newest Star Wars trailer and layered it over footage from Destiny’s massive fall expansion, The Taken King. With both taking place in space—albeit with the shooter taking place in our galaxy and not one far, far away—the trailer works. The editing itself is fantastic, and makes the game look dramatic.

As I’m sure many gamers are aware, Destiny doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to story. It wasn’t until The Taken King released last month that we got much of anything. A lot of that is in large part due to Oryx’s quest to get revenge after a Guardian killed his son Crota. So, putting him in the Kylo Ren spot in the video makes sense, especially the part where he says that he’s going to finish what he started. I don’t know about you, but it makes me want to play some Destiny.
