Who hasnât dreamed of living The Simpsons life and sitting around eating donuts all day like Homer? Marcia Andreychuk and Joel Hamilton have made their Simpsons dreams a reality by renovating their Calgary home with a replica of the Simpsonâs kitchen.
The couple took their love of The Simpsons to the next level by looking at every detail in Homer and Margeâs kitchen and have begun bringing it to life. They started with the obvious: corn cob curtains. That addition alone already adds to the quirk factor.
Next, the flooring. Iâve been watching The Simpsons for years and somehow never noticed what was right there, that the floor was an off-color blue and yellow linoleum. Information to store in your head for a future trivia night.
The retro-vation continues as Andreychuk pushes contact paper to its full potential, using it to cover counter tops and even appliances. This is just a temporary fix until she is able to fund an actual olive green stove and matching refrigerator.
Lavender-colored cabinets are once again saved by contact paper and large blue doorknobs to recreate the atypical door handles. The bursts of color are obvious when watching the cartoon but seeing it in everyday life is quite striking. I noticed a Roomba in the corner of her kitchen; I sure hope thereâs a Malevolent Sentience button on that thing.
The couple jokes that theyâd like to transform their basement into Moeâs Tavern. Now THAT would be amazing.
