The Shanghai Disney Resort Will Have a TOY STORY Hotel

Toy Story is the gift that keeps on giving. The Pixar story about Woody and Buzz Lightyear kicked off in 1995 (holy smokes, it’s been nearly 20 years!) and hasn’t looked back. Just when we thought we’d reached the end, Pixar pulled some holiday specials starring our favorite group of toys out of their creative hat and announced Toy Story 4. Who knew toys lead such busy lives? Besides rolling into theaters once again, the characters of Toy Story will be part of the grounds of the Shanghai Disney Resort.

Shanghai Disneyland will resemble the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland but have its own features – like the tallest and largest Disney castle of them all. No specific opening date has been announced yet, but the park is expected to welcome guests in 2016 and so is the Shanghai Disney Resort. Disney Insider shared a look at concept art for the resort area, and gusy, it will have a Toy Story Hotel.

Because Disney is skilled at theming their parks and hotels to the max, I’m excited to see what they’ll do with the Pixar property. The concept art (pictured above) shows a winding complex. According to Disney, “The Resort’s Toy Story Hotel will transport guests to a world inspired by the toys from the Disney•Pixar series of Toy Story animated films.”

Sign me up. Another piece of art showcasing the entire resort area shows off the park, two themed hotels, shopping, dining, and an entertainment district called Disneytown.

Are you planning to attend the Shanghai location of Disneyland when it opens? If I make it there one of these days, I would definitely try to stay in the Toy Story Hotel because I’m the kind of fan Disney sees coming hundreds of miles away.

There is (or was) a Toy Story hotel at Disney World in Orlando. I stayed there when I was a kid.
