If you bleed circles, Xs, squares, and triangles, the time has come to mark your calendars. The 2nd annual PlayStation Experience community event has just been announced, and this year it’s leaving the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip, and heading up to the breezy, sun-kissed streets of San Francisco, California. On December 5 and 6, PlayStation will be setting up shop at the Moscone Center to give diehards a shot at getting their hands on some unreleased upcoming AAA and indie titles across the PlayStation platform. You can also expect some pretty huge announcements during the PSX opening keynote. Now it’s making much more sense why Sony skipped out on holding a press conference at Gamescom.
An anticipated addition to the PlayStation Experience this year is the Capcom Cup World Championship. Open to fans as a one-day special event on December 6, 32 of the world’s best Street Fighter players will compete for a massive $250,000 prize pool and a chance to be named the “Street Fighter World Champion.” This is the official conclusion of the Capcom Pro Tour for 2015, and is definitely sure to be as “turnt” up as the grand finals of the Evo Fighting Game Championships.
After gauging fan feedback from last year, the folks at Sony Computer Entertainment America decided to slash ticket prices this year to make things more affordable. Here’s everything you need to know about getting your tickets secured for the event, courtesy of the PlayStation Blog:
- Two-Day Early Bird Ticket: $60 // Early bird available until September 20 or while supplies last (whichever comes first)
- Regular Two-Day Ticket: $75
- Saturday Only Ticket: $45
- Sunday Only Ticket: $40
- Capcom Cup VIP Package Add-on: $75
PlayStation also suggested that everyone use their PlayStation Network ID when purchasing their tickets, which I’m sure means that those who do can expect some cool in-game content to come their way. Folks who purchase the Capcom Cup VIP Package add-on can expect the following:
- Premium front area seating at the event
- Capcom goodie bag
- Exclusive access to the Capcom Cup after party, hosted by Twitch and Showdown.gg
My excitement levels are through the roof for this one, folks! I attended the PlayStation Experience last year, and it was definitely the most epic celebration of the brand that I’d ever witnessed. Do you plan on attending PSX 2015? Let us know if we’ll see you there in the comments below.
