The Plastic Knight Rises

You’ve played the game; now, for your motion picture viewing satisfaction, here’s LEGO Batman, the movie.

It’s a trailer for LEGO Batman, the Movie: DC Super Heroes Unite, and in it, the Justice League is united to take on some familiar foes. The tone is comedic; think the 1960s Adam West Batman rather than anything from the movies (this is definitely not a Christopher Nolan take on the franchise). If you’re in, you can get this on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download in 2013.

And if you can’t get enough animated LEGO, The Hollywood Reporter reminds us that Phil Lord and Chris Miller of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and 21 Jump Street fame are doing an animated LEGO movie with Chris Pratt in the lead and Will Arnett as Batman, plus LEGO Superman, Yoda (!), and Indiana Jones making appearances.

It’s not the same as actually building stuff with LEGO, but anything LEGO kinda rules.
