How YOU doin’? Pretty great, actually thanks to the news. What news is that, you ask? Why only the best news, ever, if you’re a fan of late nineties mega-sitcoms, because your Friends â rather, THE Friends â are coming to everyone’s favorite red-faced streaming content service: Netflix! Could I BE anymore excited?! And are we truly ready for the amount of Friends-related listcles the Internet is going to unleash upon us all in celebration?
Netflix announced Wednesday that all 10 seasons â which equals out to about 83 hours or 236 episodes â of the insanely popular comedy series will be available next year exclusively on their platform, starting January 1st. Um, best New Year’s Day hangover marathon ever? Probably!
So that means in nary more than a scant few months, we’ll have Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Phoebe Buffay, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Ross Geller hanging around our apartment all the time. Just like the good ol’ days. Remember them? NBC was on top, people cared a lot about Jennifer Aniston’s hair, and there was a monkey best friend on national television (we love you, Marcel) and nobody thought it was weird. It was a much simpler time, wasn’t it? Some may argue “Nooooooo!” but to that we simply respond “I know!”
Friends has gifted the world with many a cultural touchstone â smelly cats, sticky shoes, Hugsy the penguin, cows that went moo, Regina Phalange, Dr. Drake Ramoray, Gunther, Janice and her laugh, and Ugly Naked Guy. Just to name a few! We were all so young then â so naïve to the fact that none of these mid-twentysomethings could ever afford as nice of an apartment as that which they had.
Are you excited about the arrival of Friends on Netflix? What’s your favorite episode? Let us know in the comments.

The one when cousin Cassie comes fir a visit and everyone’s in lust with her.
Tough three way call between the one where no one is ready (“you hide my clothes, I’m wearing everything you own… if only I wasn’t going commando…”) The one with the embryos (“What is Chandler Bing’s job?” “He’s a transponster!”) and the one where everybody finds out (“But they don’t know that we know that they know that we know… and Joey you can’t tell them.” “Couldn’t if I wanted to.”)
When the girls lose the apartment to the guys and Ross is the gameshow host. Mrs. Chanandler Bong.
Any episode where we see Fat Monica.
That’s easy. It’s the one where Phoebe gets pregnant, and the ‘who knows whom better’ game.
