The Official Trailer For the VERONICA MARS Movie

How’s the Veronica Mars crowdfunded movie coming? Here’s the official trailer:

She’s now a lawyer living with Piz in New York, she’s back visiting Neptune, and, of course, she’s pulled back into the sleuthing game when her ex Logan gets accused of murdering his girlfriend. Plus, as we saw in some of the footage already released, it’s her 10th high school reunion, so there’s a convenient excuse for most of the old cast to be around. If you pledged, here’s what your money helped to make. It’ll be in theaters March 14th.

Veronica Mars is awesome! I can’t wait for the movie. Thanks for sharing!

  2. RG says:

Oh, a good example: Yunno how everybody tells you that Friday Night Lights is so great that even if you don’t like football or highschool stuff it just transcends all that? That is precisely what Veronica Mars is… but tenfold, and with more comedy.

  3. RG says:

Eric: Because it was a really fantastic show (not to mention that it came from the same people as Party Down). It’s not the kind of show that’s reliant upon a gimmick or a hook; it’s just super well-written with tons of heart, and it’s the kind of thing you wouldn’t get unless you took the time to watch it.

David: Assuming you’re being sarcastic… It’s not a mainstream movie. It merits coverage here for its relevance to web culture, for the fact that it’s the first ever major motion picture to be funded through Kickstarter. And again, totally not a mainstream movie; it’s creator-driven, and though the show always looked like a glossy OC clone, it’s actually the anti-OC; the point of its existence was to expose the shittiness of all that rich teen drama culture which dominated its broadcast era.

For what it’s worth, I’ve never heard of anyone disliking Veronica Mars after they actually took the time to sit down and watch a couple episodes. It takes you seriously by surprise.

  4. emma says:

This makes me even more excited to see it. I just hope she doesn’t get back with Logan.

  5. David says:

Loving all of the great nerdy content at Nerdist.com! As a fan of all the things, nothing’s more relevant to my interests than mainstream movie trailers.

  6. eric stevenson says:

does not look very interesting. dont see what all the hooplah was about, to bring this to the big screen.

  7. Sasha says:

Although her personalist and rad feminist persona, I must imagine putting Veronica Mars on the big screen is a toughie! But fun, Wild and adventurous it is as well.

  8. RG says:

Personally, the trailer is underwhelming, but Veronica Mars was always a hard sell. It’s the kind of thing that you have to sit down and actually watch to enjoy; it’s the goofy stuff throughout, the stuff that wouldn’t fit in a trailer, that makes the show work.

I just nerded all over my room

I just wish Moe the R.A. was in it…
