The Official Trailer for Pixar’s THE GOOD DINOSAUR is Here

What would have happened if the asteroid that altered life on planet earth and wiped out the dinosaurs missed our planet completely? That is the premise behind Disney Pixar’s upcoming animated film The Good Dinosaur. Sure, we’ve had our fair share of dino-filled films throughout the years, but ever since we heard the news that Pixar had plans to tackle the topic, this particular dino-loving writer has been clawing for more details on the project. We got an exciting first peek at the film last month via a short teaser and now, we have the full trailer in all of its adorable glory.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. No, this isn’t a scientific look at what could have logically happened, but instead is a heart-warming tale of friendship between a lonely Apatosaurus named Arlo who makes an unlikely human friend, and with him by his side learns the power of confronting his fears and learning what he’s capable of. As we’ve previously mentioned, both trailers give off a Land Before Time vibe, and we couldn’t be happier.

As you can see in the trailer at the top of the page, it is the dinosaur Arlo, and not the human, who is the protagonist of the film. When the lonely dino has trouble reaching food, a cave baby named Spot comes to his rescue and snags the fruit for our hungry protagonist. Though the tiny helper departs after that, the two meet up again and embark on an adventure of a lifetime, building a beautiful friendship in the process.

At the helm of the project will be director Peter Sohn (Partly Cloudy) and producer Denise Ream (Cars 2, Up). The film will star Raymond Ochoa (Arlo), Jack Bright (Spot), Jeffrey Wright (Poppa Henry), Frances McDormand (Momma Ida), Steve Zahn (Thunderclap), Sam Elliot (Butch), A.J. Buckley (Nash), Anna Pacquin (Ramsey).

The Good Dinosaur will hit theaters this Thanksgiving.
