The National Gets The Documentary Treatment in MISTAKEN FOR STRANGERS

Tomorrow, on March 28, The National will make their cinematic debut with their documentary, Mistaken For Strangers. The film, which shares its name with the first single from their 2007 album Boxer, follows the band during their High Violet tour, but focuses most captivatingly on the fraught relationship between brothers Matt and Tom Berninger — The National’s lead singer and the film’s director, respectively.

Mistaken For Strangers received a lot of praise from high places during the film festival circuit as a charmingly funny and an authentically moving film, and we are excited to chuckle and sniffle along with one of our favorite and most podcasted bands. Check below for the trailer as well as behind-the-scenes footage for the documentary, and be sure to join Matt and Tom tomorrow at 9:30 am PT for a Twitter chat about the movie.

You can check here for a complete list of film screenings, and download the movie tomorrow via iTunes.
