When you were young you probably spent your time with The Muppets, with characters like Rowlf the Dog and Fozzie Bear, and then when you got a little older you probably started to roll with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre instead, because it was time to shelve childish things. But screw that. Childish things are the best, and besides, why can’t you have both? With this video of Rowlf (as Snoop) and Fozzie (as Dre) singing “Who Am I (What’s My Name)” you actually can.
This video is the work of Adam Schleichkorn, also known as Mylo the Cat, who has really been pumping out these videos lately. We recently told you about his one where the Sesame Street gang sang Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “The Crossroads,” and where Bert and Ernie performed Warren G’s “Regulate.” The inspiration for this new one though was the D-O-Double G himself. Schleichkorn wrote, “âI’ve been planning on doing a Snoop song for over a year, so when I saw that the Doggfather himself posted my Regulate mashup on Facebook, I freaked out for an hour, and then got to work.”
Schleichkorn thinks these videos might eventually run their course, and yeah they probably will at some point (we are a fickle bunch here on the interwebs), but they’re really well done and strangely compelling, so hopefully he makes a bunch more before moving on to something else. Besides, there are plenty of female hip hop stars that deserve some love, and you just know Miss Piggy is ready for her big moment.
What other Muppet or Sesame Street members do you want to see make it into one of these videos? Let us know in the comments below.
