The Most Intentionally Funny Video of The Day 11/12/13: Rhys Darby on Letterman

It’s 11/12/13, and nothing seems out of line or in line with any sort of celestial bodies, because the numbers are probably pretty arbitrary to the entirety of the universe. Basically, if the universe wants to collapse in on itself or tear a portal open to another dimension, it’ll probably do that whenever it damn well pleases, as opposed to doing it according to the schedule of a single species on a single planet. Still, you should probably celebrate something not being out of retrograde or whatever by watching The Most Intentionally Funny Video of The Day.

Today’s MIFV features Rhys Darby (who just started a fun new web series, Reasons To Be Scared of the Future, here at Nerdist) making a great stand-up debut on The Late Show with David Letterman, surprisingly not wearing a suit, which I had previously thought was compulsory on Letterman when he moved to 11:30.

Here’s the previous pick for MIFV, in case you missed it.

Per usual, I’m taking submissions for the MIFV like so many featured in the past. I love finding new, hilarious videos from people hundreds and thousands of miles away, so please do send your videos so long as they follow the rules below.
-E-mail embeddable video link to [email protected] with subject line “MIFV Submission”
-Videos must have been posted online (i.e. have a time stamp that says so) within exactly two weeks from when you submit (i.e. videos uploaded more than 14 days from the day when you submit will not be up for consideration)
-Don’t add any cover letters or explanations; please just send the link

I love Rhys… so much so that when this aired last Friday, I stopped my family and the company that was over and made them watch this claiming he was hilarious… but found myself claiming at two minutes in… “I swear he’s hilarious most of the time”… Not his best material or setting obviously, but I have to say I was disappointed. Still love ya tho Rhys!

Rhys was much funnier on @Midnight than on Letterman, but expectations need to be lowered for 5 minute slots on late night shows… So with that in mind, he was pretty good here. 🙂

If that was the funniest thing of the day, then today was not very funny.
