THE MELTDOWN WITH JONAH AND KUMAIL Season Two Is Near

It’s been announced from on high (Jonah’s Tumblr page) that The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail will be enjoying a second run on Comedy Central. Based on the popular live alt comedy show, The Meltdown features comedy vets and up-and-comers performing in the back of Meltdown Comics, located in Hollywood, CA. The cable and live shows are hosted by our talented pals Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley, The Indoor Kids) and Jonah Ray (Maron, Jonah Raydio). The weekly stand-up show has been running for four years and is a comedy force to be reckoned with. The first season of The Meltdown offered up an incredibly impressive lineup of comedy stars including our own Chris Hardwick, Jim Gaffigan, Maria Bamford, Marc Maron, Todd Glass, Natasha Leggero, James Adomian, Pete Holmes, Steve Agee, Neal Brennan, Garfunkel and Oates, John Hodgman, Eric André, Nick Kroll, Michael Ian Black, and so many more.

Starting March 25, The Meltdown gang will be taping 8 episodes at the NerdMelt Showroom featuring a guaranteed amazing lineup per episode. There will be two tapings per evening. If you’ve never been to the show before, it is an experience you will definitely be telling your future progeny about. Be sure to pick you FREE tickets today because they are selling out fast. If you miss out on the tapings you can always attend one of the weekly shows at NerdMelt. All you have to do is follow the show on Twitter for the 411 on lineup, VIP trivia, etc. I hear this week’s show will include the comedy stylings of Rory Scovel, Danny Tamberelli, Jared Logan, Andrew Donnelly, Jak Knight, Jenny Slate and a special guest.

    Maron is Jonah’s credit?\What about @Midnight or — Bing?

Any word on if season one will be online for streaming at all? Netflix, hulu, anything? I don’t have cable, so I gotta catch my funnies online.

  3. Michael says:

The line up on those Meltdown shows is AMAZING and I love the cutaways into the greenroom antics. My biggest complaint is the show it too short and I feel we get short changed on some of the comedian’s sets.

I wish it was an hour-long show for those of us nowhere near NerdMelt; I think the editing should be improved a bit for Season 2, so we get more performers (and audience interaction) in the show.

  4. Charlesxavier says:

Don’t forget an amazing performance of “Dare to be Stupid” by Weird Al Yankovic!

  5. Great news, I had assumed it was a no-go since no one had mentioned it anymore. By the way, when is this website going to get its Facebook/Twitter/G+ login functionality for the comments section fixed? Everytime I try to use it I get some popup browser window telling me (in layman’s terms) that something ain’t right. What gives ?
