The Latest DARK SOULS III Secret Is A New Clothing Line

Prepare to be disappointed.

As I’m sure you’re well aware, Dark Souls III is launching  worldwide on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on April 12. The game marks the end of the series (or at least a turning point of sorts) for the folks at From Software. We’ve played through quite a bit of it ourselves and can confirm that fans are going to be happy with the final product. That said, with the impending launch, Dark Souls-related hype has been at an all-time high. So, when the Bandai Namco (the game’s publisher) teased a huge announcement on Twitter, fans lost their minds and started to speculate about what the publisher had in store; a possible remaster of the first game, or grand collection were the top guesses. But alas, it turns out the “big news” was that a new Dark Souls III clothing line launched on the publisher’s website. What a tease!

Though it’s unfortunate that our lofty hopes for a Dark Souls movie, remaster, or something else video-game related weren’t fulfilled, the most disappointing part about the whole thing is how mediocre the merch is. One of the shirts reads “Never Trust a Chest,” and don’t get me started on this one which features classic phrases like: “Git Gud or Go Home,” and “It’s Soul Farming Time.” I mean they could have at least taken advantage of the existing chest meme “Amazing chest ahead.” But, I digress.

But of course, they’re not all bad. The Alive, Dead, Hollow design is actually pretty cool–just not as inspired as some of the fan-made creations at sites like Red Bubble and TeePublic.

Whatever the case, it doesn’t quash the hype for the game. Are you planning on picking it up? Let us know in the comments!
