THE LAST JEDI’s Throne Room Scene Still Wows in 16-Bit

You know the classic philosophical question, “If a tree falls in the woods, but no one is there to hear it, does it make a sound?” Well there’s now a modern day movie version of it: “If an amazing scene happens in a movie, but it doesn’t get its own 16-bit version, is it truly great?” We say no, but only because we want more of them, like this classic video game re-imagining of the The Last Jedi‘s epic throne room scene.

This fantastic video comes from the YouTube channel Mr. Sunday Movies, who previously gave the 16-bit treatment to The Last Jedi‘s final showdown between Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren. And while we absolutely want to play this level specifically so we can fight Snoke’s Praetorian Guards, our favorite part here comes at the start, when Snoke arrogantly misreads Kylo’s mind. The Supreme Leader is unaware the lightsaber that is being turned at Ben Solo’s true enemy isn’t pointed at Rey.

Man that scene is so good, it gives us chills even in 16-bit form. Which is why we’re going to need even more of these made. We need to see what Finn, Rose, and BB-8’s escape from Captain Phasma looks like in glorious pixels, and we’re definitely going to want a 16-bit version of Admiral Holdo’s stunning hyperspace attack, a.k.a. the Holdo Maneuver.

What scene from the movie should be the next to get transformed into 16-bit? Hit play on your best idea in the comments below.
