Saw the pics and thought I would pass this one up. I know better than to judge by the cover. Glad I came back.
Peacock tails are due to a phenomenon known as runaway sexual selection. Basically there is no tail big enough to make a female happy, so the peacock with the biggest tail will get all the ladies, no matter how huge and detrimental to the male’s survival it is.
