The K Ohle #13: The Boat Show with Pete Holmes

Pete and Kurt sit down and get chummy about boats. They investigate the origin of a LOT of boat sayings, argue about what defines a boat, and uncover why Pete is obsessed with proving his future wife is a virgin. Plus, Kurt talks about his first time DJing on acid.

Thanks to Nick Thorburn from Islands for creating the theme song!

  1. Divya says:

The actual boat section with Pete and Kurt was the most amazing riff I’ve ever heard.

  2. Aeloo says:

Holy shit! What a great riff. I almost die laughing.

  3. a says:

This is the first Boat Show I’ve listened to and I’m so confused. These ain’t the same boat shows my grand pappy grew up listenin’ to on the ol’ AM, that’s for sure.

  4. Svenja says:

    I loved everything about it.

  5. phil medoc says:

This was a great one. I love the improvisation format of The Boat Show and you two really made the flow seem very natural.

Kurt, you have had a crazy life! I’m glad you survived your salad days. Thanks for sharing these stories.

  6. Al says:

Great story about an abortive love affair. But, was it really an Aussie carney? She sounds like a New Zealander. She was probably a New Zealander.

  7. yojimbe says:

what’s on Pete’s face? it’s making my skin crawl.

  8. acornayho says:

Love K Ohle. I’ll admit, Boat Show was the hardest one for me to get into, but after Pete’s episode, I think I finally get it. The fact that they can quick fire improv/riff on their “knowledge” of boating is so great. This format just gained like, 6 billion seahorse power.

  9. Tillburg says:

This can’t be anything less than excellent.
