I grew up in Brandon,Fl and now go to the University of Florida. I realize that means nothing to anybody else, I just thought that was cool to hear someone mention my hometown &university. Anyway, i’m new to this podcast but i’m quickly making my way through them. I haven’t come across one that I haven’t liked. The conversations are not only entertaining, but completely relatable.
Wow, I really connected to this podcast in a few different ways. First, I completely understand what Erica was talking about with being one of only a handful of Asians at school and how kids would make comments about it (Hey, Bruce Lee!). That was definitely more in elementary and middle school, but it could be rough at that age. I learned to cope by just ignoring it and then just laughing it off as I got older, but I think those experiences made me wish I could blend in to the crowd a little more and not really be noticed. Now I can appreciate being different, but it definitely took time.
I also think it was awesome that Beth spent some time in South Korea growing up. Both my parents emigrated from there, and we visited when I was 8 and I still have a lot of fond memories from that time. I’d like to go back, although I’m sorry to say I can’t really speak the language anymore. It’d definitely be a heck of a crash course in relearning it, though.
I really enjoyed the brief conversation about friends’ relationships, too. Movies and TV shows romanticize things a little too much, so it’s always great to look around and see the ones that work and what it takes to keep them strong. They’re not always perfect, but you can always tell who’s willing to compromise because they really do care for each other. It’s kinda sappy, but isn’t that what everyone really wants in a relationship?
Anyway, another awesome podcast, Janet! I’ll be caught up in no time, so if you can suggest any podcasts that are half as cool as yours, I’d definitely appreciate it.
I really like this episode, but I wish they each got their own episode. They both were so interesting that we needed an hour with each. I am enjoying Burning Love.

yeah, I have the same problem, lola. I’m from germany and could watch the first three episodes without any problems, now they’re all blocked. drives me nuts that there are new episodes out and I can’t watch them. I loved the first three episodes, the show is awesome! I just hope someone made a mistake or something and they’ll fix it at some point… ’cause why wouldn’t you want an international audience? just doesn’t make any sense…
Firstly, I have to say I love this podcast. I have been listening since episode one because I have heard great things about you in relation to SF Sketchfest and how hard you work. Secondly, I started watching “Burning Love” which is so funny and kickass. However, I guess the Yahoo website picked up on the fact that I live in Uruguay (You have a listener in South America! There must be more.) and now it does not let me watch any of the new ones coming out. Is there another way to watch the episodes? I think my favorite part of this episode is the Kereoke (I cannot spell that word, sorry) practice time!
Wow, your guests genuinely do sound great singing together, and you with more confidence in the song might well blend well with them…you’re definitely an alto to their soprani.
