Proving you can animate pretty much anything, here’s a music video largely consisting of stop-motion animation of colored Velcro dots. The video, made by artist/director Mike Cantor and singer/MC Frontalot bassist Brandon Patton for Patton’s song “Freckle,” moves back and forth from the Velcro to live action, using 19,000 Velcro dots in a process Cantor calls “Velcro rotoscoping.”
You can tell this took a lot of work. The result is pretty impressive.

I feel like they tried to combine “Sledgehammer” by Peter Gabriel with “Fell in Love with a Girl” by the White stripes, and the end result is a complete and utter mess. It felt like a college freshman’s class project.
