The Internet Blessed Us With Two Slow Mo Hydraulic Press Videos

Whatever machine in the Matrix whose job it is to provide us with entertaining YouTube videos–the kind that help us ignore the harsh realities of our existence–went haywire this week and crossed up two of our favorite accounts. However, we’re not complaining, because if the Slow Mo Guys want to play around with a hydraulic press, and the Hydraulic Press Channel wants to show off their work in slow motion, we’re more than happy to watch both.

This week, on the same day and by total coincidence, each YouTube account borrowed from the other, with their usual satisfying results. Above you can see the Hydraulic Press Channel video, where they crushed different type of soda containers. While the rigid glass bottle broke instantly, and the can eventually sheared apart with underwhelming results, the plastic bottle was just as amazing to watch in real time as it was in slow motion. The elasticity of the plastic made it so the whole thing was turned into a soda bomb.

As for the Slow Mo Guys, they were on location to film a different video when they happened to see that there was a hydraulic press nearby, and, feeling inspired by their fellow YouTube brethren, decided to see what would happen if you put an entire deck of playing cards under the machine.

Needless to say, do not use a hydraulic press to deal for your friendly neighborhood poker game. That is unless you want to murder everyone with flying shards of paper.

So while we’re sure the head machines of the Matrix don’t like to see a mix up of this kind, we’re perfectly okay with getting two crossover YouTube videos like this. Just so long as the machine with that job doesn’t mess up by mixing hydraulic press videos with any of those cute cat ones we like.

What other YouTube channels should have crossover episodes? Mix it up with us in the comments below.
